Extracurricular Activities

Extracurricular activities invite students to pursue passions and interests that fall outside the curriculum. These activities can include special interest clubs, arts, music and athletics. Opportunities are offered depending on school resources.

Involvement in extra-curricular activities enriches students' sense of belonging to the high school community. During the first week of school there will be club information at our Cowboy Kickoff fair held in the Student Centre. We encourage students to follow our Crescent Heights Instagram @CrescentCowboys for ongoing updates on how to get involved in school culture.

Student Activities

Some activities, such as choral/performing arts and band concerts are connected to involvement in a specific curriculum area. Performances will be promoted through the newsletter and around the school.

The student Leadership Group organizes various events during the school year such as Welcome Week, Urban Cowboy Day, and the Calgary Board of Education’s Traditional Pow-wow. Students are encouraged to take an active role in the activities offered at Crescent.

Crescent Heights High School is pleased to offer the following extracurricular clubs and activities to students during lunch and after school. Please connect with Ms. Liu in Room 237 for more information, or take a look at the Club Calendars posted around the school.

CSSAC/SWAT TEAM

The Chief Superintendent's Student Advisory Council and Student Wellness Action Team have student representation from all grades. These teams provide a voice for students within the Crescent Heights High School community and the Calgary Board of Education. Representatives attend regular meetings and facilitate a wide range of activities associated with our school. With growing student engagement, CSSAC and SWAT focus on various issues like technology, safety, transition, student leadership, wellness and more! See Ms. Webb for more information.
