One way parents/guardians can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on our school’s parent society. Parent societies are a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds for the school. A society is a separate legal entity from the school council. More information can be found in our CBE Administrative Regulation 5001 – School Councils and School/Parent Societies.

About Our Parent Society
Our Parent Society is known as the Crescent Heights High School Parents Society.
The mission of the CHHSPS is to raise and help direct funding to enrich the educational experiences for all students attending Crescent Heights High School.
The CHHSPS consists of a group of parents that organize parent/guardian participation in casinos or other fundraising activities such as raffles under the control of the AGLC (Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis). Casinos typically take place every 18-24 months. The CHHSPS ensures the money that is raised from casinos/raffles etc. is spent in compliance with strict Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission regulations.
Funding requests brought forward and approved at School Council, are forwarded to the CHHSPS to be approved through voting at a meeting. If the request is approved by the CHHSPS the AGLC raised funds can then be spent.
The efforts of both the CHHSPS and the Crescent Heights High School School Council have provided our students with valuable tools and experiences to enhance student learning. Purchases have included:
- Wrestling Mats

- School Spirit/Outdoor Cinema
- Social Justice Initiatives
